What is GIC?

Global Impact Celebration is one of our biggest events every year at Callahan First Baptist Church. It is both an incredible opportunity to meet and hear from many of our partners in the mission of sharing Christ with the world, and encourage them in their work through Praying, Giving, and Going.

20th Year of GIC

For our 20th year of GIC, our theme is “Wherever I Go”.

Letter from Pastor Lynn

We are excitedly looking forward to our Global Impact Celebration 2024 July 24 – 28!  This is our annual missions celebration when we give glory and praise to God for all He has done and is doing in and through the ministries with which we partner.  Please make these 5 days a priority and plan to participate in one of the most exciting weeks of the year!

In this booklet you will find our schedule for the week along with other important information you will need.  It will answer many questions you may have and be a valuable resource not only for the week of Global Impact Celebration but for the rest of the year as well.

If you haven’t already done so, please join me in praying for God to use this week in powerful ways.  Ask Him to encourage us, challenge us, and change us for His glory.  We want to do more praying, giving, and going than ever before!  I’m looking forward to joining you in taking the Gospel to our Callahan, Northeast Florida, America, and the rest of the world!

Where We’ve Been: 2004-2024

Since its inception in 2004, our annual missions conference has been a cornerstone of our church’s commitment to global outreach and support. This year marks the 20th anniversary of an event that has profoundly influenced our missions giving, fostering a deep-seated culture of generosity and active participation within our congregation.

Who We Are

Missions at Callahan First includes over 63 Mission Partners worldwide.

Here, you will learn a little more about our 2024 GIC Missionary Participants. We encourage you to make some time with each mission group. Here are some ways you can do that during GIC 2024.

During the week there will be booths setup for each mission and multiple opportunities for Small Groups to meet individually with Mission Partners. Take these chances to experience what each mission is involved in daily and how you can pray for them.

Wherever I Go

There are multiple ways you can participate in GIC 2024.

One way you can be involved in missions is to give to our Faith Commitment Budget. Each one of us can help reach out to our mission partners and be used to help them in their daily work for the gospel. Financial support is an important part of this work

Another way you can be a part is to commit to giving a few hours (as little as 2 hours) to a week (168 hours) to participate in a mission trip. Throughout the year, we have opportunities for you to go and help our mis- sion partners with fulfilling their work.

Everyone is needed to be part of our prayer team. Within this GIC 2024 Booklet, we have provided you with a list of 63 of our incredible mission partners. We are asking that you join with us to take time and pray for them regularly. Through our 8:26pm Targeted Prayer Times on Tuesday Nights, we ask you to also lift up our mission partners. On our new Mis- sionary Display, in the lobby, you will also have the opportunities to see updated prayer needs that will help you stay connected.

Legacy Of Missions

For more than 20 years, Callahan has been in- volved in missions through Giving, Going and Praying. Everyone can be involved in helping share the Hope of Christ. Although we have been involved in GIC for 20 years, we are not finished. We will continue to find ways to get resources to…

  • Equip our partners
  • Support our partners
  • Work together to share Christ

Faith Commitment Goals

During GIC you will be asked to help us gather our Faith Commitment Budget. This Budget allows us to support our missionaries, fund mission trips and provide needed resources to the mission field. Amen Goal is our minimum goal that we hope to reach. Glory Goal will allow us to do more and reach out more. Hallelujah Goal will enable us to reach out in the best way. Pray about what you can give… Together we can give more.

Going In Faith

Hours • Days • Weeks

There are many opportunities to serve from just 2 hours to 168 hours (week). Explore the “Wherever I Go” booklet for examples or contact the church office for serving options.

Praying in Faith

Prayer is essential for missions as it provides spiritual strength, guid- ance, and protection for missionar- ies, fosters unity and partnership between the church and those sent out, and opens doors for new op- portunities to share the gospel. It reminds us of our dependence on God’s power and sovereignty, ensur- ing that our efforts are aligned with His will. Through prayer, the church supports and encourages mission- aries, playing a crucial role in the global mission to spread God’s love and message of salvation.

Targeted Prayer Emphasis

Throughout the year, join us on Tuesday nights at 8:26pm to have a targeted prayer time, wherever you are, for our church, for missions, and for your own individual needs.

Internal Prayer Guide

Use the guide in the “Wherever I Go” GIC booklet on pages 11-12 to pray daily for our Mission Partners. We have 63 just in that booklet who need prayer on a daily basis.

Mission Display

Also, throughout the year, you will be able to interact with our Mission Display in the lobby and find updated prayer needs by which to pray over our partners in ministry.
